Perth Runners

We have four runners at Perth tomorrow on their Gold Cup card.

AWAY SHE GOES (2.12) runs for our Racing Club and this is a track we think will suit her. She’s dropping back 2f to two miles after being beaten just a length at Kelso a couple of weeks ago so this trip will be more to her liking.

We expected the handicapper to put her up for her last effort but they’ve left her alone on 80, which was a nice bonus so with Ed Austin taking 5lbs off again we’d expect her to be competitive once more if she handles her third run in four weeks.

INOUE runs in the same race after a break of 112 days off bottom weight, Lilly Pinchin will ride him which we’re delighted about. We’ve taken a different approach to training him during his time away from the track, he’s been doing a lot more swimming than would be normal for the rest of our horses.

He’s fresh and well in himself, so it will be interesting to see how he compares to Away She Goes because he came out on top when they met at Musselburgh back in February. Both have improved since so we’ll get a good gauge on him this weekend.

BREIZH RIVER (3.22) is one of the best horses we have in the yard and showed that by winning a nice handicap at Kelso last October. He disappointed in his last couple of runs so we’ve given him a break and tweaked a few things at home with him, so we’re hopeful he’ll be ready to get back to where he was.

If he turns up in the form he was at Kelso, he should factor in this event.

OUR GIRL SAL (5.42) won last time for us in just her second run for the stable. Ryan Mania rides and he’s been getting to know her pretty well by now. It’s a competitive race, Happy Index for Olly Murphy looks very strong, having won at the track last month.

But we are going there in good form ourselves and I was particularly happy with her work the other day so we’re hopeful of a nice run.
