horses in training

Afternoon everybody!

It’s now one week since my accident. I’m pleased to say that my recovery continues to go well and I’m making progress every day.

I’m moving about several times a day with the help of crutches or a walking frame, taking more steps each time and gradually getting stronger and more mobile.

My pelvis is still broken and it’s very sore, but the medics here at the RVI in Newcastle are really pleased with how much progress I’m making. I’m doing all the right things to ensure that progress continues to move in the right direction. The main thing now is getting my pain management right, as that makes such a difference to how I’m feeling and what I’m able to do.

The good news is it looks like I should get back to Hazelrigg sooner that expected. Possibly as early as next week. I’ll be chuffed to bits to get back to Steph and the boys. And the horses as well!

As things have turned out, I’ve missed barely any racing and the team back at Hazelrigg are doing a superb job keeping everything moving seamlessly in my absence and ensuring I’m kept informed of all that’s going on. I’m looking forward to being back part of it.

Once again, a massive thanks to everyone who’s been in touch to offer their support and send well wishes to me and my family. I can’t tell you how much it means to us all and what a help it is too.

Onwards and upwards!

Cheers,

Paul
