Breizh River – Sedgefield

BREIZH RIVER (3.07) heads to Sedgefield on Tuesday in a 0-120 chase over two miles and five furlongs looking to put a disappointing effort at Cartmel last month behind him.

The betting suggests he’s going to be up against it, despite having the best RPR in the race, but that’s reflecting his last run and perhaps the notion that nobody really knows what version of him will turn up at the moment.

Looking at this race, which is a step down in grade from last time, there’s a fair bit of pace in it so that’s something we’re looking forward to. He’s carrying top weight along with Arthur’s Quay but that’s for a reason because of what he’s done previously.

That means we’re giving weight away to three of our rivals, two of which have claimers on their back taking a bit more off, so it’s a stiff task.

He’s a horse we still believe in and if he puts it all together he’s clearly got a lot of talent – you don’t win a race like the one he landed at Kelso last season otherwise.

I’m hopeful that the way this race will be run will suit him and Sedgefield is a track which can play to his strengths.
