Away She Goes to Kelso

AWAY SHE GOES (2.48) runs at Kelso today aiming to back up her win here a few weeks ago for our Racing Club.

We are stepping her up in trip to 2m2f but that doesn’t worry us too much because the first two furlongs over that distance are downhill, so she should get a nice run into the race.

She doesn’t have to make the running and after last time the other jockeys will be a bit wary of letting her loose on the lead!

Ed Austin knows her really well by now so he’ll do what’s best as the race develops and we’re confident that if she turns up in the same form as last time, she’ll take a bit of pegging back.

Obviously the handicapper has put her up 7lbs for the win earlier in the month but she’s still on a nice mark of 80 and Ed will take another five off that with his claim.

She’s the only last time out winner in the field, but Spartan Warrior, the top weight, comes into it off the back of a good second at Stratford earlier this month and the horse in front of him that day has won again so he deserves a lot of respect.

Jet Patrol was also second in his last race, and like us is stepping up in trip too, so there is competition we have to be wary of.

But if she holds the form of her last race we’re hopeful of a nice run.
