Athair Mor – Wetherby

ATHAIR MOR (11.40) ran a cracker to be second at Newcastle a few weeks ago stepping back in trip after he made his debut for us over 3m at Perth in October.

In front of him that day was Fat Harry from the Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith yard, so we were delighted to see him stand up the form with a very narrow defeat at Haydock the other day – and he likely would have won with a better jump at the last.

That gives us plenty of encouragement going into tomorrow’s race at Wetherby, which is over a slightly shorter 2m3f. We wouldn’t want to go any less of a trip with Athair Mor but this distance should be fine for him in these softer ground conditions.

The handicapper raised him 1lb for the Newcastle run and it’s a competitive enough race for a 0-100 but we’re going there in good form and are hopeful of a big effort.
